IMAGE GALLERY and Video: Zing Fling Celebrates Amazing Things Members

A new logo was unveiled recently, as the Amazing Things Arts Center moves into its second decade.

A new decade at Amazing Things Arts Center, brings a new logo and new vision, along with a new executive director Phil Knudsen - hired in 2012, after founder Michael Moran retired.

But despite some improvements, some traditions at the downtown Franmingham Arts Center remain, including its annual Zing Fling, membership mixer.

The Zing Fling was held Saturday night. Along with food and desserts upstairs in the art gallery, members and guests were treated to Jazz music, folk music, comedians, singer songwriter performances and some cabaret.

The Center grew quickly and in May 2007, Framingham Town Meeting members voted to lease the Historic downtown Hollis Street Firehouse to Amazing Things for 50 years at the cost of $1 per year.

Today, the Center produces more then 300 events annually, including adult and children’s programming.

There are more than 350 member families and almost 200 volunteers involved with the Center annually.
