MA State Police Trooper Injured In Mass. Pike Crash

A trooper was hospitalized Friday morning after his SUV was pushed over the guardrail and into the woods in Framingham.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – A Massachusetts State Police trooper was hospitalized Friday morning after his cruiser was hit by a tractor trailer on the Mass. Pike, police said. The collision happened around 7:20 a.m. at the Edgell Road tank snow gate on the westbound side of the interstate in Framingham.

The crash pushed the cruiser, a fully marked SUV, over the guardrail and into the woods, according to state police.

The trooper was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester. He was "conscious and alert," police said.

The truck driver was not injured. His vehicle is registered out of Indiana.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
