Man Charged With OUI After Crashes In Natick & Framingham

When police stopped the man, they noticed open bottles of alcohol in his car.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- A Framingham man is facing several charges including OUI and driving with an open container of alcohol.

Police got a call on Feb. 11 about an erratic driver coming from Natick down Route 9 in a white van. Officers on patrol pulled over the white van that was now driving erratically on Waverly Street, other patrol officers witnessed the stop, according to the police report.

Before the car was fully pulled over it hit the side of the curb hard enough to cause sparks, and then attempted to drive away from police, according to the police report. Officers were able to block in the car and noticed heavy damage to the car including a flat front tire.

Police said the driver, Airson Defreitas displayed signs of being drunk with slurred speech and swaying as he stood. During the field sobriety test Airson told officers that "everybody drinks," and said multiple times he loved the officers, according to the police report.

After he was placed under arrest officers were notified by Natick police that the same white van had been hit two other cars in town.

Airson was charged with OUI, leaving the scene of property damage, driving with an open container of alcohol, negligent driving and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
