Man Indicted With Failing To Register As Sex Offender
One Framingham case was announced by the Middlesex DA.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan announced Thursday the grand jury indictments from July 12 to Aug. 9.
One Framingham-related case was included:
Luis Velez, 40, was charged with failure to register as a sexual offender, subsequent offense.

Velez, a Level III sex offender with a previous conviction for failure to register, was allegedly contacted by the Framingham Police Department on November 17, 2017, and December 5, 2017, and asked to come to the Framingham Police Department to register as a sex offender. The defendant allegedly had not registered on January 8, 2018, when he was arrested.
The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on Sept. 4.
