Milford Cultural Council Chairwoman Resigns

Cultural Council Chairwoman Maggie McIsaac resigned after serving for three years.

MILFORD, MA- After serving the Milford Cultural Council for three years, Chairwoman Maggie McIsaac has resigned.

The announcement was made at Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting and her final day was Wednesday. In McIsaac's letter she said she could no longer keep up with the duties and responsibilities of the council chair.

McIsaac goes on to say in her resignation letter that participation has declined in the last few years and no other members on the current council are interested in stepping up to serve as chair and she extended her help in finding a replacement.

Selectmen William Buckley brought up the point that without a council chair the town could be in jeopardy of losing the council altogether. "I think there's a different message in this as well," Selectmen Buckley said, "with Maggie's resignation it doesn't look like they're going to meet the requirements to meet." Highlighting his appreciation for McIsaac's work on the council, Selectmen Buckley added that a replacement was necessary for the survival of the council.

McIsaac spent her first year on the council as a member and served the past two years as the council chairwoman. She was not available when Patch called her but according to the Milford Daily News, McIsaac is expecting her fifth child this spring and has increased professional duties.
