Minuscule Turnout In Framingham Preliminary Election 2023
Two percent of registered voters in three District 9 precincts participated in the election, with the highest vote-getter totaling 40 votes.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Tuesday's preliminary election for District 9 City Councilor produced an interesting outcome, but little actual interest from voters in the three participating precincts.
Voters in precincts 1, 2 and 3 were tasked with narrowing the field from two to three in the race for the city council seat, but only 2 percent — 62 total voters — of the city's 3,000 registered voters turned out to the polls.
The highest vote-getter, incumbent Tracey Bryant, garnered the highest total with just 40 votes. Jose Ferreira, who gained the second highest votes after announcing that he had stopped campaigning and essentially proclaimed that he didn't want the seat, collected only 16 votes.
