MWRTA Gets MassDOT Grants For 2 Projects
The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority will get almost $600,000 for two initiatives, MassDOT said on Friday.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority will get close to $600,000 from MassDOT for two transit initiatives, state officials announced on Friday. MWRTA was one of nine regional transit agencies around the state to get grants.
MassDOT will give MWRTA $375,000 to study whether to implement enhanced Sunday service, and $220,830 to study route equity.
Earlier in 2019, MWRTA got two $350,000 grants for two other initiatives: a pilot shuttle connecting Marlborough to the Riverside MBTA stop in Newton along Route 20, and to create an app to allow riders to contact bus drivers when MBTA commuter trains are running late.
