New Classical Ballet Program Unveiled at Performing Arts Center of MetroWest

There are free ballet class for beginners, children, teens and adults on Monday and Wednesday. Call to see if space available.

The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest has unveiled a new classical ballet program, led by Nathalie Navert for beginners, students with previous experience and adults. Classes are for 10-week sessions.

On Wednesday, perspective teen and adult students can try a free ballet/barre class.

There is a free, 60-minute adult ballet/barre class on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. and a second one at 7 p.m.

There is a free Ballet I class for children ages ages 4-7 at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 17. There may also be a free class tomorrow, Sept. 15 at the same time, if space is available.

There is a Ballet II class for children ages 8-10 at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 17. There may also be a free class tomorrow, Sept. 15 at the same time, if space is available.

Attendees are asked to dress in leotard and tights and ballet slippers, or dress comfortably.

This is a good opportunity to meet the ballet instructor, and discover if ballet is right for you.

Navert graduated from Canada’s National Ballet School prestigious teacher training program. She comes to PAC with more than 25 years of experience teaching young aspiring dancers for beginners to advance levels.

In 2012, Navert was appointed interim director of the reputable Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, and was assistant director of the Dance Academy at Walnut Hill School since 2004.

Upon coming to the United States, Navert worked with Jacqueline Cronsberg on the faculty of Ballet Workshop of New England and the Massachusetts Youth Ballet in Hopkinton and Waltham. Navert was also the founder and artistic director of two successful schools in Quebec, Canada and taught at Ontario school of Ballet. She is the director of the new dance program at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and she is on faculty with the Deane School of Dance.

The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest is located inside the Danforth Museum Building on the third floor.

The cost is $170 for 10 lessons. A registration fee may apply.
