Coronavirus Framingham: New Case Has European Connection

A fourth Framingham resident has tested presumptive positive for COVID-19 and is in isolation.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The fourth Framingham resident to test positive for the new coronavirus, COVID-19, recently traveled to Europe, health officials said. The person is in isolation at home, but they do live with another person.

So far, only two of the four COVID-19 cases in Framingham have a connection. The first person to test positive last week lives with another person who has also tested positive. The third person tested positive over the weekend, but does not have any connection to the first two cases.

Every major country in Europe is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak. Italy has close to 30,000 cases, followed by Spain (11,279), Germany (7,689), and France (6,664). There were just under 5,000 cases across the U.S. as of Tuesday morning, including 197 in Massachusetts.
