New Stop Signs Could Come to Warren Intersection
A dangerous intersection on Warren Road might get a little safer with some proposed stop signs.

Framingham has hired a consultant to make recommendations on improving the safety of the intersection when Warren Road, Shawmut Terrace and Prindiville and Dennison avenues meet, which has been the scene of several accidents.
Stop signs are already posted on the east and west sides of the intersection but new signs could be added to the north and south sides. This would make the intersection a four-way stop, slowing traffic and potentially decreasing the number of accidents.
Last summer a van crashed into an SUV on Warren Road and sent three adults and four children to the hospital. But accidents aren't all that prompted a deeper dive into the intersection's safety. Deputy Director of Public Works Paul Barden says residents in the neighborhood complained to the city traffic commission about the intersection.

The recommendations by the consultant, VBH, will be brought to the city council for approval. If all goes well, Barden says, the stop signs and any other recommended measures can be implemented in the late winter or early spring.
