Olympian Aly Raisman Speaks to Framingham Middle School Students

The Olympic gold medalist from Needham visited the Framingham middle school with a representative from Walden Behavioral Care.

Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman spoke to grade 8 students at Cameron Middle School in Framingham last week.

Raisman, who was the captain of the 2012 gold medal-winning U.S. women’s gymnastics team, visited the Framingham middle school with Walden Behavioral Care Center prevention specialist Stephanie Haines to speak to students about healthy eating and eating disorders.

First, Haines spoke to a couple hundred students for about 45 minutes about mindful versus mindless eating.

Raisman, 20, of Needham, spoke to grade 8 students and answered questions on Sept. 16.

“It was very exciting for the Cameron community to have an Olympian visit,” said Principal Michelle Melick.

Besides being an accomplished gymnast, Raisman was a contestant on season 16 of Dancing With the Stars and finished in fourth place with her dance partner Mark Ballas.
