Opioids And Court Systems To Be Discussed at Framingham LWV Forum

The last forum held by the League of Women Voters explored the destigmatization of opioid misuse and the state of the epidemic today.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham League of Women Voters is hosting their next Informed Framingham forum on the Opioid Epidemic and the Court System on Wednesday, June 5. The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Costin Room, Framingham Public Main Library, 49 Lexington Street.

The last forum held in March and was a general overview of the opioid epidemic and what treatment looks like for different people. Many of the speakers at last forum brought up the common theme of destigmatizing opioid misuse.

This follow-up forum will look at how the opioid epidemic is treated in the courts.

  • A representative from the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan
  • Honorable Judge Robert Ziemian, President of the NEADCP (New England Association of Drug Court Professionals)
  • Roberta Leis, Executive Director of the NEADCP, who is also a Framingham LWV member
