Pepperoncini's Torn Down To Make Way for New CVS

Construction crews began tearing down Pepperoncini's last Friday, Aug. 1 so a CVS can be built at that site.

Construction crews began tearing down Pepperoncini’s Friday, Aug. 1.

The downtown Framingham establishment closed on Friday, June 13, after a decade in Framingham.

Elie Youssef plans to build a 13,000 square foot CVS in place of Pepperoncini’s, a single-family home and a couple of existing buildings on lots between his business Concord Street Automotive and Lindbergh Road. He announced the plan in the fall of 2013.

The Framingham Planning Board unanimously approved the project, with a drive-thru, in March 2014, despite objections from some in the neighborhood about traffic.

The CVS, which will be the second one located on Concord Street in downtown Framingham, is scheduled to open in summer 2015.

Pepperoncini’s owner Vince Loscerbo has said he is considering re-opening Pepperoncini’s elsewhere in Framingham, but no plans have been announced for a new location.
