An investigation began when a parent reported the incident to KinderCare. The parent learned of the incident from their child, who was at the daycare.
“We are aware of a situation that occurred on the playground of our Framingham center last Friday, October 10, involving a child and some of our center staff. What occurred was completely inappropriate and out of line with the standard of care we provide to families and the children entrusted to our care every day,” said KinderCare corporate spokesperson Neil Simon in a statement.
“Upon learning of this incident, we promptly reported the situation to Child Protective Services and State Licensing, started an internal investigation ourselves, and placed the teachers involved on suspension. We are continuing to cooperate with all authorities investigating this matter,” said Simon.
“The teachers’ actions reflected a lack of good judgment and appropriate care. We consider the children in our centers to be extensions of our own family, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that nothing like this occurs again,” said Simon in a written statement.
