UPDATED: Selectmen Vote to Offer State Memorial Building & Danforth Building for New Mass Bay Community College Campus
Town Manager announced tonight Selectmen voted to offer 2 town buildings to the state for a proposed Mass Bay College campus in Framingham.

Town Manager Bob Halpin announced to Framingham Town Meeting that Framingham Selectmen took a vote tonight, Oct. 21. to offer two town buildings and a garage to the state for a proposed Mass Bay College campus in Framingham.
Halpin described it as a “vote on the future of Memorial Building and for the new campus for Mass Bay Community College.”
Selectmen voted to authorize the Town Manager to submit a proposal, which will need eventual approval of Town Meeting, for the sale of the Danforth Buiilding, the Memorial Building and the Pearl Street garage to the state for a proposed new Mass Bay Community College campus in downtown Framingham.

The plan is for the sale to be enough to find a replacement for both municipal office space and school administrative offices.
The vote was 4-0.

Halpin said the proposal to the state would include a preservation easement, which would allow access to the Veterans Memorial in the front of the Memorial Building.
