SLIDESHOW: Olympic Gold Medalist Draws Fans to Framingham

Summit Ski & Snowboard in Framingham hosted Olympic gold medalist skier Ted Ligety Wednesday night.

Wednesday night, Olympic Gold medal skier Ted Ligety made a visit to Framingham.

The giant slalom skier spent a couple of hours meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for photos at Summit Ski & Snowboard on Route 9 in Framingham.

The store brought the two-time Olympic gold medalist to town as part of its kick off to the ski season. Major ski companies as well as representatives of the Ski Ward Race Team, Nashoba Valley Ski Club, Bogastow Ski Club, and Eastern Mass Buddy Warner were on hand last night at the Framingham store.

At the age of two, Theodore Ligety began skiing in Utah. At age 10, he began racing.

Ligety, who made his World Cup debut at age 19, won the combined ski event at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy.

And earlier this year, Ligety won the giant slalom race at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Today, Ligety, 30, is considered on of the greatest giant slalom skiers of all time with two Olympic gold medals, 22 giant slalom World Cup wins, 2 giant slalom world championship gold medals and 5 World Cup titles.
