SLIDESHOW: Potter Road Elementary's 3rd Annual Environmental Expo
The elementary school expo aims to educate students and families on ways to reduce, recycle and reuse in an interactive and fun way.
Potter Road Elementary held its 3rd Annual Environment Expo on Wednesday night. There were local vendors displaying their services and goods and educating families on the best ways to recycle items from Styrofoam, electronics, fabric and building materials to reusing and reducing waste.
“This is our third annual environment expo and our most successful yet with over 100 children learning and playing games about the environment," said co-creator and organizer Cheryl Gale. "The event aims to educate our community on ways to reduce, recycle and reuse in an interactive and fun way. It’s all only possible through the participation of great vendors and our teacher and parent volunteers."
Gale and Tara Rufo, a fourth grade teacher at Potter Road Elementary conceived and organized the event three year ago.
