FRAMINGHAM, MA — Students in Massachusetts home from school due to the coronavirus outbreak are missing out on all types of classes — including gym class and organized sports.

To help kids get in a workout while home from school, state troopers will begin giving virtual exercise classes April 13 offering through Facebook.

The classes, which last between 8 and 20 minutes, will stream live Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:30 a.m. The classes will run until June 26 — the scheduled last day of school in the state — if needed.

"It provides yet another way for us to make a positive difference in the communities we serve," state police Col. Chris Mason said in a news release. "I urge parents and guardians to take a look at what we are offering and determine if this is a safe activity for their children."

The classes will also be stored on the state police Facebook page in case students miss the live broadcast.
