Where to Expect Road Construction in Framingham This Week

Winter Street bridge in Framingham is getting some preliminary work done prior to state construction project. Expect delays.

The following is a traffic alert Issued by the Town of Framingham Department of Public Works for week ending Aug. 22:

Bethany Road: Bethany Road will be closed to through traffic Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM. Seek alternate route. Expect delays.

Central St Bridge Deck Repairs at Edgell Road: Repair work has begun on the bridge. Two way traffic will be maintained.

Cochituate Rail Trail: MassDOT contractors will continue bike trail construction.Please use caution on the trail.

Eaton, Chalis, Nob Hill Roadway Restoration: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue removing and resetting curbing and castings. Use caution while traveling in this area. Expect delays.

Edmands Road: Work will continue on traffic-calming speed humps. Work will be in the vicinity of 95 Edmands Road. Traffic detours will be in effect during construction.

Indian Head Road: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue casting adjustments and finish sidewalk grading. Expect minor delays.

Mellen Street: Mellen Street will be utilizing a one-lane, alternating traffic pattern during curbing and sidewalk work. Detours may be in place. Expect delays on Mellen and Winthrop Street and surrounding areas.

Potter Road Area: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will finish punch list items and driveway aprons. Minimum traffic impact.

Saxonville Intersection Improvements: Traffic detours are in place on Concord Street at School Street and ‘A’ Street 7:00AM-5:00PM. Saxonville businesses are open during construction. Expect delays.

Wickford Road Bridge: The bridge is open. The contractor will continue to complete work on the side and underneath the bridge. Please use caution around work zone.

Winter Street Bridge over CSX: NSTAR and other utility relocations will continue in the vicinity of the bridge. Minimal traffic impact.

Winthrop Street: Drainage and waterline replacement will continue. One lane alternating traffic pattern Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.


Police detail officers will be on site to assist in the facilitation of traffic flow and to assist with emergency response. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 7 a.m. . and 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
