FRAMINGHAM, MA — For the second weekend in a row, health workers will be out in Framingham talking about coronavirus safety as the city remains a hot spot in Massachusetts for virus transmission.

Framingham on Friday reported 15 new cases and two new deaths. On Wednesday, the state reaffirmed Framingham's status as a red "high-risk" community, with an average of 11.4 new cases per day over the last two weeks.

Because of its high-risk status, Framingham is eligible for extra help from the state on top of free testing under the Stop the Spread program. That help comes in the form of community education and enforcement of social distancing rules.
