• MassDOT Unveils Wrong-Way Crash Prevention Tech on Route 128 Amid Safety Push (rock929rocks.com) — New wrong-way crash detection systems are being installed this week on Route 128 between Peabody and Gloucester, with weekday construction and shoulder closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The safety push follows several deadly wrong-way crashes, including one that killed Gloucester teenager Chris Dailey, and aims to prevent future tragedies on this heavily traveled stretch.
   

• Mark Rothko's son donates painting to Cape Ann Museum (seegreatart.art) — A newly donated 1934 Mark Rothko watercolor of Gloucester Harbor is now part of the Cape Ann Museum’s permanent collection, deepening the story of the city’s artistic legacy. The painting anchors a major exhibition on Rothko, Avery, and Gottlieb’s summers on Cape Ann, and the artist’s children will visit in September for a public symposium about his development.
