Grafton Historical Society Takes You To The 1893 World’s Fair

The Grafton Historical Society welcomes back historical interpreter Patricia Perry as she debuts her newest program, “The Greatest Show On Earth,” on Wednesday evening, September 14th at 7:00 PM at the Brigham Hill Community Barn, 37 Wheeler Road in North Grafton.

The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair celebrated the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ landing in North America. The fair drew 26 million visitors over a six month period and railroad tourist packages to the fair in Chicago were a popular means of seeing the fair.

“We’re excited to have Pat Perry back with us here in Grafton,” noted Grafton Historical Society President Linda Casey.  “Pat’s unique way of interpreting history has been an audience favorite and we’re looking forward to her newest presentation about a railroad trip to the Chicago World’s Fair.”
