Summer Registration for Music & Theatre Programs

Registration is ongoing for Apple Tree Arts summer courses.  A variety of music classes and theatre programs are offered. Programs include early childhood music courses, private music lessons, ensembles and theatre productions. Space is limited. Call 508-839-4286 to sign-up.

Several early childhood music courses are available. The weekly class “Mixed Age Move & Groove” is ideal for ages one to four and meets for eight weeks. “The Summer Adventure Through the Woodlands” class for children four years old to kindergarten age begins July 9 and meets five days a week from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. “In All Kinds of Weather” starts August 6 and runs for one week meeting from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

 Keyboard classes available are for beginning and intermediate students. In “Intro to Keyboard” children sing, dance, solfege, work as an ensemble and apply their new knowledge to the keyboard.  This class meets once a week for eight weeks. “Keyboard Magic,” Level 2 Exploration” classes are offered to children who have completed the Level 1 class and met once a week for four weeks.

 Apple Tree Arts uses the critically acclaimed Musik Garten curriculum for its early childhood music education program. These classes help build a pathway to musical literacy and a repertoire of music and community.

 Private lessons are available in piano, guitar, violin, fiddle, flute, clarinet, brass, cello, harp, saxophone, organ, recorder and voice for ages 8 to adult. Private violin lessons for ages 3 and older may be requested.  Lessons are offered in four, six or eight week sessions starting June 15.

 Adult and children flute choir ensembles will be offered. Other ensembles are available upon request.

Apple Tree Arts’ theatre arts department offers several weekly youth programs. The imaginative lively musical “How Does Your Garden Groove?” is ideal for children in grades one and two and starts July 16. Young actors in grades three to six will enjoy portraying the fairy tale characters in “The Granny Awards” mini-musical. The well-known story about Flat Stanley comes alive in the “Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley Jr.” for children entering grades three to six.

“Footloose” is the summer musical for young adults entering grades seven to 12. The program runs Monday to Friday, 5 hours a day in a two-week session starting August 6.
