Grafton Community Television Welcomes New Video Producers

GRAFTON:  Grafton Community Television's spring production course saw the successful graduation of nine new certified producers for Grafton's cable access station. The class began on Monday, March 24th and was held for 8 weeks through May 19th.  Students learned the basics of Television Production, including; Studio Cameras and Field Camcorder Operation, Audio and Lighting, Directing, and Non-Linear Editing. Students worked on completing a final, edited project that they shot individually and edited for presentation at the Monday, June 2nd graduation ceremony.  

The graduates are:  Dennis Perron, Edward Cornell, James Cadman  Kenneth Grew, Kellie Nash  and Apprentice/Junior Access Producers; James Cherry, Sami Sandakly, Kevin Brown, and Christopher Cadman       

According to Kris McMullin, GCTV Public Access Coordinator, “This class had the largest number of enrolled students we have taught so far.  It was a privilege to work with these students one on one, and watch the amazing progress they made throughout the  semester. The amount of creativity and dedication that we’ve seen has been extremely rewarding."

The student’s projects will be viewable on GCTV’s Video On Demand and featured during the Community channel’s broadcast rotation.  The next GCTV Television Production Course will take place in the Fall of 2014.  

Grafton Community Television provides programming on three distinct public access channels in the Town of Grafton over the Charter Communications and the Verizon cable systems. Monthly schedules for Grafton Community Television Channels can be found atwww.GraftonTV.org. Charter Channel 11/Verizon Channel 34 provides general interest programming, Charter Channel 12/Verizon Channel 33 broadcasts town government programming, and Charter Channel 13 /Verizon Channel 32 features school programming and high school sports events. The Grafton Community Television studios and offices are located at 296 Providence Road in South Grafton.
