Union: Blind Child Assaulted In Henderson School Bathroom: Report
A union representing Boston Public Schools staff said a blind student was assaulted last week in the bathroom of the Henderson Upper School.

BOSTON —A union representing Boston Public Schools staff said a blind student was assaulted last week in the bathroom of the Henderson K-12 Inclusion School Upper Campus in Dorchester, a report says.
Local SEIU 88 wrote a letter to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu saying an unknown assailant hit the boy in the back of the head Dec. 2 with so much force the boy smashed the front of his head into the wall, according to the Dorchester Reporter.
A Boston Public Schools spokesperson told The Dorchester Reporter "an incident" had occurred in the school's bathroom and that students have been interviewed. The spokesperson told the Reporter that how BPS understands the incident "varies from the severity" of what the union said in its letter to Wu.

This reported attack is the second time Henderson has made news this fall. Last month, Henderson principal Patricia Lampron was hospitalized after a confrontation with a student. A 16-year-old female student was arrested and charged with assault and battery in connection with the incident.
A Henderson administrator had been threatened by that same student, the union said.
