Today's riddle: What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Can tiny wasps save Berkshire ash trees? Researchers hope to slow the emerald ash borer (berkshireeagle.com) — Researchers are quietly using Great Barrington’s Three Mile Hill and nearby reserves to test whether tiny parasitoid wasps and targeted insecticides can slow the emerald ash borer’s destruction of local ash trees. Their work, led locally by Berkshire Natural Resources Council, could help preserve pockets of healthy ash in the Berkshires and guide long‑term forest management across the region.

Leigh Davis of Great Barrington has secured $100,000 in a House economic development bill to help launch a new health insurance collaborative for nonprofit workers, including many in Berkshire County. Meet the four Berkshire women named Commonwealth Heroines (berkshireeagle.com) — Great Barrington’s Jenny Schwartz has been named a Commonwealth Heroine for her quiet, persistent work improving food access through Berkshire Bounty and earlier programs at Berkshire Co-op Market.
