Reports of racing preceded the crash, which killed one and injured four others, including a 12-year-old girl.

BOSTON - Police say calls of cars racing on I-95 in Boxford preceded a wrong-way crash that killed a Peabody man and injured four others Saturday night.
Police received reports of two vehicles apparently racing on I-95 South in Boxford. Moments later, reports came in of a serious crash on the northbound side at Exit 53.
A three-car crash resulted in the death of 38-year-old Michael Espinola of Peabody. Police say Espinola was driving 1997 BMW convertible at a high rate of speed when he crashed into oncoming traffic, striking a 2012 Acura MDX carrying a 64-year-old North Hampton, NH man and a woman, and a 2009 Honda Civic, carrying a 43-year-old Georgetown woman and a 12-year-old girl. They were all transported to Beverly Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
