12 Fan Questions Answered Before Super Bowl Kickoff
As you make your final preparations to head to Manning Field to cheer on the Generals in the Super Bowl, here are some common questions - and the answers.

The Generals take on the Bourne High School Canalmen in the Div. 3A Super Bowl at Manning Field in Lynn at noon on Saturday. Here are some questions fans might have before the game.
1. How Far Away is Manning Field? Plan on a half hour trip to Manning Field, based on a starting point of the high school. Officially, the field address is 30 Ford St., Lynn. It is 15 miles from the high school to the field.
2. How Do I Get to Manning Field? There’s a few ways to get to Manning Field. The best bet is to head south on Route 128, and either get off at exit 25A (Route 114) or exit 26 (Centennial Drive). From there, it is best to consult a map or a GPS, since there’s quite a few turns. From the Centennial Drive exit (our pick), take a left on Centennial Drive and at the end take a right on Summit Street. Follow Summit Street through the traffic light at Lynnfield Street on to County Street (in Peabody). At the end of County Street, take a right on Lynn Street and follow it into Lynn, where it turns in to Broadway. At the intersection with Route 129, stay on Broadway to the left, which becomes Route 129 east. Look for Forest Street on the left of Route 129 or Locust Street on the right off Route 129A. Or stay on Route 129A to Route 107 (Western Avenue) and take a right. You will see the field next to the baseball field on the right.

One reader notes, correctly, that Route 1A to Route 107 takes you straight to the field. But it can be a slow ride through Beverly and some shopping areas in Salem, but it a relatively straight shot.
3. Where Do I Park? Manning Field has a dedicated parking lot and since the Generals will play the first game of the day, early arriving fans should have no problem finding a spot. There’s also on street parking and other options in the East Lynn neighborhood.

6. What are the Team Records? Just like the Generals (11-0), the Canalmen are also undefeated with a 12-0 record.
7. How Did Each Team Get to the Super Bowl? The at Andover High School on a touchdown run by Trevor Lyons with 32 seconds left in the game, followed by a Paul Kim PAT. The Canalmen beat Bishop Feehan 22-14 in its Division 3A semifinal game at Bridgewater-Raynham High School.
8. We Know What to Expect from Our Generals, but What Can We Expect from the Canalmen? Expect to see the Canalmen run the ball with a Wing-T offense and give it to senior, 170 pound running back Joe Epps. He has 22 touchdowns this season.
9. Have the Generals Ever Been in the Super Bowl Before? No, this is the Generals first Super Bowl appearance since the high school Super Bowl system was established in 1972.
10. Where is Bourne? Bourne is the “gateway to Cape Cod” and best known for the Bourne Bridge over the Cape Cod Canal, as well as the Sagamore Bridge. Bourne High School is 85 miles away from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
11. Isn’t Manning Field Really Called Manning Bowl? When a lot of people hear about Manning Field, they wonder if that is another name for the Manning Bowl. Well, kind of. Manning Bowl was torn down in 2004 and rebuilt into a modern turf field complex renamed Manning Field the following year.
