The NIMBY's (Not In My Back Yard) were out in full force at the last Hamilton Affordable Housing Trust meeting on Wednesday night (8/17/16).
We heard:
1. Affordable Housing brings riff-raff into town!

2. Affordable Housing will cause our school system to deteriorate!
3. An Affordable Housing project will cause heavy traffic!

4. Affordable Housing will destroy the "Country Feeling" Hamilton has!
5. Affordable Housing will bring children into our school system and we will have to start having Prop 2-1/2 overrides again!
Well folks, it's pretty obvious to me that if the citizens of Hamilton do not support this latest initiative of the Affordable Housing Trust committee to bring some affordable housing into Hamilton then there will be an unfriendly 40B development come into town and we will not like it. It is inevitable... we have kicked this can down the road for at least 20 years and now is the time to get proactive and have some control over what is to be built and where it will be.
Let's get behind the Affordable Housing Trust board, not throw hurtles in front of them, and get something done!
