Bedford Knocks Boys and Girls Tennis From Tournament

Both the boys' and girls' tennis teams at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School were knocked from the state Div. 3 North tournament on Wednesday with losses to Bedford High School.

The boys’ and girls’ tennis teams from fell to Bedford High School on Monday in state tournament semifinals action.

In Wenham, the No. 3 seeded boys team, lost 3-2 to No. 10 Bedford on the courts.

In Bedford, the No. 4 ranked Bedford team swept the No. 9 Generals 5-0.

The losses end the season for both teams, who had been the last Generals team to still be in the postseason tournament in any sport.

The boys (13-3) had arrived in the sectional semifinals after , 4-1. The team after finishing the season at 12-2, with the only two losses coming to Pentucket Regional High School, which Bedford defeated 4-1 on Monday.

The girls team did not have a player lose a match in its two wins headed in to Wednesday. The Lady Generals and then . The team finishes the season at 10-7.
