Please Support These Three Candidates For School Committee
A brief overview of candidates for this year's Hamilton-Wenham School Committee election.
This year there are three seats opening up on the HWRSD School Committee. Four candidates running, three that we endorse. None are incumbents.
We proudly and publicly endorse the three women running for the School Committee.
Those candidates are: Deb Evans, Melissa Moore, and Jeanise Bertrand.

Here is a little background about the three candidates that each was willing to share with us:
DEB EVANS: Deb's core belief is that education is a community value that deeply impacts all townspeople. While most critical to our children, she believes the quality of the education provided affects our whole community and that the HWRSD must explore innovation and enhance quality while achieving efficiency and containing cost. As a resident of our towns for nearly 25 years, she has served on the Wenham Finance Committee, Joint Budget Process Committee, HW Edfund (past President), Friend of Buker School (past President), HWYSA, and First Church in Wenham Trustees.

MELISSA MOORE: Among her strongest qualifications are her experience as a labor, employment and contracts attorney and having been a high school English teacher. She is a graduate of HWRHS and is committed to ensuring that today's students receive a quality education. She has informed us that of her goals is to find ways that the high quality education "product" can be delivered in the most cost effective manner. Melissa believes there are ways to make our education dollars go further while not additionally burdening the taxpayer.
JEANISE BERTRAND: Jeanise is a recent graduate of the very school system she seeks to represent. This gives her a different perspective on how the policies and services directly effect the students. She wants to help get the budget to a place where the School District is not forced to return large amounts of money to the town because of over budgeting (as has been the case the past two years). A lot of work has been done on this already and Jeanice wants to continue this positive momentum so as to have a budget and a school system that all residents can be proud of.
