CVS Reopens After Vehicle Crashes into Building

A Friday morning crash closed the South Hamilton store for about 24 hours.

CVS on Walnut Street reopened on Saturday about 24 hours after an SUV crashed into the front of the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing store.

A supervisor at the store said CVS was able to reopen at about 11 a.m. Saturday. The drive-through pharmacy had continued to serve customers during regular hours since the Friday morning accident.

According to Hamilton Fire Chief Phil Stevens, a Wenham man told first responders he supposed he hit the gas instead of the brake causing his vehicle to careen up over the sidewalk and into the front of CVS at about 9:30 a.m. Friday. No one was injured in the crash.
