Demolition Delay for Historic Wenham Homes

The Wenham Historical Commission will hold a public hearing regarding a new demolition delay by-law on November 19.

The Wenham Historic Commission will hold a public hearing regarding a demolition delay by-law at the Wenham Town Hall at 7pm on Thursday, November 19.

The by-law would apply to homes outside of the Wenham Historic District built prior to 1850; 45 homes in Wenham have been identified as historic under this criteria. The proposed by-law and listing of properties are available can be downloaded from on the Historic Commission website.  The demolition bylaw link is on the left side of the screen.  

If approved by a Town Meeting, the Historic Commission would have the ability to delay for up to one-year demolition of these structures.
