Essex County Person ID'd As Commuter Rail Victim

HAMILTON, MA – MBTA Transit Police have released the name of the victim in the fatal commuter rail accident in Hamilton last week.

Richard Sullivan, superintendent of the Transit Police Department, confirmed in an email on Monday that police identified the victim as William Wood, 34, of Ipswich. No further details regarding the accident were released.

Police responded to the train tracks between the Ipswich and Hamilton/Wenham stops on Wednesday morning on a report of a pedestrian struck.
