This five-hour Culinary Basics class is a culinary course emphasizing basic cooking technique. During this comprehensive hands-on class, we will be learning to put key culinary terms in action, including sauteing, searing, roasting, braising, baking, broiling, grilling, boiling and blanching. A variety of meats, poultry, fish/shellfish and produce will be featured throughout the class. Cooking mediums, the proper use of cooking equipment, cooking temperatures, proper prepping, food flavoring through fresh herbs and sauces and food storage will also be discussed.
