The HWHS Cheerleaders are collecting shoes for ShoeBox Recycling, which provides affordable shoes to those in need around the world. They will take any worn but not worn out shoes. There will be boxes at all home football games at the cheerleader's table just inside the gate. This is a great way for everyone to do their part to keep things out of landfills. Each year over 200 million shoes are dumped in landfills. Your shoes can recycle them and and you can find your SoleMate by putting a simple note in the shoe, tracing the path they take to meet their next owner.
This is a great example of how everyone can help create a greener planet just by going into their closet and pulling out those shoes that are never worn and recycle them.
