“I think Jacqueline Fibbe is amazing,” Fibbe’s teacher wrote in nominating her for the award. “She is part of Best Buddies and one of the H20 (Help to Others) mentors. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and she is amazing with our kids in Learning Skills. She is responsible, always has a smile on her face, reliable, and kind.”

Glovsky’s teacher said: “Will is a pleasure to have in class. His pronunciation and desire to learn Spanish is astonishing. Recently, all students in my sixth to eighth grade classes were given an exam on the 100 most common verbs in Spanish. He scored a 97 percent, 6 percent higher than the eighth grade average (and Will is only a sixth grader). Not only is he a skilled student, he is polite and helpful. As a speaker to the incoming sixth grade students, he truly is an exemplary student who will go far and inspire his peers.”

In addition to the certificates, pictures of both students are going to be put up at the Miles River Middle School. Rotary has also provided a wall plaque at the school on which their names will appear along with those of past and future winners.

Outstanding Accomplishment awards have been given for leadership, good citizenship, excellence in the performing arts or extracurricular activity, sportsmanship, most improved academically, and academic excellence.

The Student of the Month program is a joint venture between the Hamilton-Wenham Rotary Club and the Miles River Middle School. Catherine Frost coordinates this program at the middle school and Tom Ackerman oversees it for Rotary.
