Firefighters Ordered Out of the Building at Hamilton House Fire

UPDATE: The home belongs to Mandy Carter-Zegarowski, mother of Syracuse basketball star Michael Carter-Williams. He was leading his team to a victory in the NCAA tournament during the fire.

All firefighters were ordered out of the building at a Hamilton house fire Saturday night.

The decision was made just past 11 p.m. at the third-alarm fire at 261 Cutler Road. But again at about 11:15 the fire commander decided to again send firefighters back into the building to battle the fire, which was not under control.

Firefighters from all over the North Shore have been called to the scene, including from Beverly, Danvers, Essex, Ipswich, Rowley and Wenham.

Photos being tweeted from the scene show flames shooting from the top of the home. The building is described as a 2,500 square foot Colonial style home, according to town of Hamilton assessor records.
