Hamilton and Wenham Residents: Burn or Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Give your Christmas tree a new purpose.

The presents are open, the stockings unstuffed and now the Christmas tree you carefully picked out does nothing more than take up space in the corner of your living room.

For Hamilton and Wenham residents, those trees can have new purpose. Residents can either bring trees to be burned at Patton Park by Jan. 6 or to be chipped and composted at Pingree Park by Jan. 10.

Those who would rather burn their trees should bring it to the area behind the baseball backstop at Patton Park before 4 p.m. on Jan. 6. The Christmas tree bonfire will start at 4 p.m. that day.

Residents also have the option to recycle their trees at Pingree Park in Wenham. Those who choose this option should bring their tree to the parking lot next to Vitale Ball Park. Trees brought to Pingree Park will be chipped and composted to recycle nutrients back into the soil.
