Hamilton Coronavirus: BOH Order Requires Face Masks
The Hamilton Board of Health's order requires residents to wear cloth face masks in stores and restaurants.
HAMILTON, MA — The Hamilton Board of Health issued an emergency order on Wednesday requiring all residents wear cloth face masks in grocery stores, pharmacies, home improvement stores and restaurants. Employees are also required to wear masks. The order went into effect on Friday.
The order will be enforced by Board of Health officials, Hamilton Police officers, and Building Inspectors. The penalty is a warning the first time, then a $100 fine followed by a $250 fine.
The town suggests cloth face masks such as a scarf or bandana as surgical masks or N-95 respirators should be saved for health care workers. The order will stay in effect until further notice.
