Hamilton-Wenham is set to receive nearly $3.5 million in Chapter 70 education funds, and the towns will receive about $1 million collectively in unrestricted funds as part of the Fiscal Year 2016 budget the state legislature recently passed.
The $38 billion FY16 state budget is now on the desk of Gov. Charlie Baker.

Hamilton is set to receive $619,359 in unrestricted funds, and Wenham will receive $394,879 of the unrestricted funds pie. Those numbers represent a $21,522 increase for Hamilton and a $13,722 increase for Wenham over the FY15 allocations.
The $38 billion state budget includes $4.5 billion in Chapter 70 funding and $979 million in unrestricted aid to local municipalities.
