Hamilton-Wenham Schools Want To See Your 'Signs Of Hope'

The district-wide project promotes staying creative and positive while families and students are home.

HAMILTON-WENHAM, MA— Since Governor Charlie Baker's stay-at-home order was issued and residents transitioned to life indoors, window-displays of hope and positivity have flooded social media. The Hamilton-Wenham school district wants to keep the positive momentum moving in town with a new initiative, “Signs of Hope.”

The project encourages students and families to make their own window displays or outdoor signs that embrace a message of hope. The signs can be sticky notes on a window, sidewalk chalk drawings, front lawn banners or any creative variation of those posted on social media.

The project launches on Friday, and will run through May 31st.

To be included in the project, participants need to take a photo of their sign and share it with the district folder. Here are some helpful instructions the district offered:

How do I share my Sign of Hope?
● Take a photo of just the sign — no people, pets, etc. Zoom in or get up close to your sign, allowing for the best possible photograph.
● Save the photo as a jpeg image with the following naming convention: SchoolGradeInitials.jpg
For example: 3rd Grader at Winthrop School named Joe Student would name his image as
Winthrop3JS.jpg
● Upload your image to this shared Google folder: Signs of Hope for use in future projects.
