The Wenham Fire Department last week conducted a vehicle rescue drill at the Iron Rail property.

The conducted a recent drill where firefighters practiced their vehicle rescue skills at a mock car crash.

The drill was held April 6 using two junk cars on the . One of the cars was donated by the town of Wenham and the other by New Beverly Auto.

Fire Chief Bob Blanchard said about 25 firefighters participated is training with several vehicle rescue tools - including a - plus spreaders and a ram that is used to open doors and back vehicle seats.

"We went through the whole scenario as if it was real," Blanchard said.
