Little Leaguers Knocked From Tournament; Amesbury Moves On
Amesbury defeated Middleton 12-4 on Tuesday night, eliminating Hamilton-Wenham from District 15 play.

The Hamilton-Wenham Little League's all-star Williamsport team's season came to a close on Tuesday night, and the team didn't even step onto a baseball diamond.
A set up a dramatic showdown between Amesbury and Middleton to decide which Pool 2 team would head on to the District 15 Championship.
Unfortunately for the Generals, meant that Amesbury held all the cards in their hand. A win meant they would advance and a loss could leave the door open for the Generals to stay alive in the tournament.

Knowing that they controlled their own destiny, the Amesbury Little League All-Stars defeated Middleton 12-4 on Tuesday night to ensure a spot in Friday’s District 15 Championship against Danvers American.
A Middleton win would have set up a three-way tie at the top of Pool 2 between Hamilton-Wenham, Amesbury and Middleton (Hamilton-Wenham beat Middleton, Amesbury beat Hamilton-Wenham and Middleton would have beaten Amesbury). Had the tournament played out this way, the team with the lowest runs-against average would have advanced. The Generals only gave up 8 runs in two games, so they would have had a prime opportunity.

The Generals finish the postseason with an impressive 4-2 record in District 15 play.
The District 15 Championship will be played at the Harry Ball Field in Beverly at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
