Local residents named to Dean's List at Saint Michael's College
Colchester, Vt. - The following local residents were named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List at Saint Michael's College, a liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vt.:

Derek Rice, son of Daniel and Janet Rice of Hamilton, a sophomore Political Science major, who graduated from before coming to Saint Michael's.
Natalie Watson, daughter of William Watson of Hamilton, a May graduate Elementary Education and American Studies major, who graduated from before coming to Saint Michael's.

Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.
Laura DeBlock Named to Dean's List at Bryant University
Smithfield, R.I. - Laura DeBlock, a senior in Applied Psychology from Wenham, was named to the spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University.
Saint Anselm College Dean's List Spring 2012
Manchester, N.H. - Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B., dean of the college announces the following students that were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
Jonathan W. Britton, of Hamilton, an Accounting major and a member of the class of 2013.
Matthew S. Greeke, of Hamilton, a Business major and a member of the class of 2013.
Kevin R. Roller, of Hamilton, a English major and a member of the class of 2015.
To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Hamilton Resident Emily Helming Named to Stonehill College's Spring 2012 Dean's List
Easton - recently named Hamilton resident Emily M. Helming, a member of the class of 2012, to its Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.
To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.
Christina Belezos Named to Sacred Heart University's Dean's List
Fairfield, Conn. - in Fairfield, Conn., has announced the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale. Christina Belezos of Hamilton has made the dean's list.
Connecticut College announces dean's list for local area
New London, Conn. - The following local students have achieved Dean's Honors, a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.66, or Dean's High Honors, a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78, for the 2012 spring semester at .
- Ainsley Highland, class of 2014 at Connecticut College and a resident of Hamilton, has been named to the Dean's Honors list.
- Joanna Smith, class of 2012 at Connecticut College and a resident of Hamilton, has been named to the Dean's Honors list.
Spencer Collins Named to Dean's List at Keene State College
Keene, N.H. - Keene State College has released the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. Among the 1,390 students named to the Dean's List is Spencer Sean Collins of Hamilton.
The Dean's List designation is bestowed to those Keene State College undergraduates enrolled in a degree program who have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. A 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale is required to earn the Dean's List honor.
Dorothy Brennick Named to Dean's List at the University of New Haven
West Haven, Conn. - Dorothy Brennick from Hamilton was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the spring 2012 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.
Emily Smith Participates in Summer Scholars Program
Philadelphia, Penn. - While most college students have traded rigorous academic work for relaxing on the beach, Wenham resident Emily Smith will give up summer vacation to remain on campus at Saint Joseph's University as a member of the Summer Scholars Program. Smith is one of 102 students who will engage in faculty-mentored research and creative projects at the University this summer.
The program, which runs for 11 weeks from May until August, requires students to work exclusively with a faculty member to produce a written description of their research that will be published by the University, and to present their findings next spring during the Celebration of Student Achievement event. For their work, students receive a stipend of $3,200, on-campus housing, and the opportunity to participate in social and educational programs.
Research topics range from local and national issues in the sciences, business, education and history to extended analysis of literature and fine arts.
Smith, a political science major, will work with Heather Hennes, Ph.D. on their topic, " Jesuit Influence in Central America and Most Specifically, El Salvador."
Hamilton Native Emily Helming Presents at Top Economics Conference
Easton - When many of the nation's top economic scholars recently met in Boston at the annual Eastern Economics Association Conference, four Stonehill College students were among the presenters, including Hamilton resident Emily Helming from the Class of 2012.
Advised by Professor Akira Motomura, Helming examined how a baseball team's successful offense impacts attendance at Major League Baseball games.
Megan E. Walsh Named to Colby College Dean's List
Waterville, Maine - Megan E. Walsh, a member of the Class of 2015 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was named to the dean's list for her outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2011-12 year. Walsh is the daughter of John and Cheryl Walsh of Wenham and attended Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
Students whose grade point averages were 3.61 or higher were named to the Dean's List.
Kassandra Martin Named to Deans' List at Merrimack College
North Andover - Kassandra Martin, a resident of Hamilton, was named to the Fall Semester 2011 Deans' List at . To be named to the Deans' List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.
Area Students Named to Colby College Dean's List
Waterville, Maine - Area students were named to the dean's list at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for their outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2011-12 year.
Connor T. Sullivan, a member of the Class of 2012, is the son of David Sullivan of Hamilton and is majoring in history at Colby. He attended Williston Northampton School.
Mckenzie E. Love, a member of the Class of 2013, is the daughter of William and Susan Love of Wenham and is majoring in English at Colby. She attended Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
Students whose grade point averages were 3.61 or higher were named to the Dean's List.
Area residents named to Dean's List at Fairfield University
Fairfield, Conn. - Fairfield University has announced that the following local residents have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester:
- Joanna Durgin, a resident of Wenham.
- Margaret O'Brien, a resident of Hamilton.
To be selected for the Dean's List, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5, of a possible 4.0.
Kelsey Shuka Awarded Dean's List Accolade for Fall 2011 Semester at Roger Williams University
Bristol, R.I. - Kelsey Shuka, a resident of Hamilton, has been named to the Fall 2011 Dean's List at . Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester, provided that they have not received any of the following grades: F, I, NP or NS.
Claire Stehfest, of Hamilton, earns second academic honors from Clark University
Worcester - Claire S. Stehfest of Hamilton has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2011 semester.
To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3.
Zoe Marie Catalano of Hamilton named to Dean's List at Washington University in St. Louis
St. Louis, Mo. - Zoe Marie Catalano of Hamilton was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Catalano is enrolled in the university's College of Art in the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts.
To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Art, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.
Local residents named to Dean's List at Grove City College
Grove City, Penn. The following area residents were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Grove City College.
Liesel Defeo, a sophomore English major has been named to the Dean's List with Distinction. Liesel is a 2009 high school graduate who was homeschooled and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard DeFeo from Hamilton.
Hannah Staats, a senior Economics major has been named to the Dean's List. Hannah is a 2008 high school graduate who was homeschooled and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Staats from Wenham.
Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.6 to 3.84 and for the Dean's List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.00.
Bryant University Students Named to Dean's List
Smithfield, R.I. - The fall semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes the following area residents:
- Patrick Hendrickson, a Freshman Business Administration major from Hamilton.
- Laura DeBlock, a Senior Applied Psychology major from Wenham.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute Announces Dean's List
Worcester - The following local resident was among 1,151 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2011 semester.
Jackson Fields of Hamilton is a senior majoring in Computer Science.
The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
