M is for Museum - An American Girl

Monthly Program for Preschoolers at the Wenham Museum

M is for Museum combines early literacy with observation skills and socialization in a museum experience for preschoolers ages 2.9 and up.

Join us at the Wenham Museum on the 2nd Friday of each month at 10:30 am. Program is included with admission, $10 adults, $6 children, and always free for members.

M is for Museum is sponsored by Early Childhood Partners, a local Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program.

A Real American Girl
Friday, March 13

Learn about Elizabeth Richards Horton whose doll collection began the Wenham Museum. She grew up here in the Claflin Richards House. We will read Lizzie’s Story and make an adventure journal.

Marathon of Fun
Friday, April 17

Learn what a marathon is and the Boston marathon in particular, read a book about running and do a fitness activity. Wear your sneakers.

Science of Toys
Friday, May 8

Learn how toys in the museum work, like trains, pushbutton toys, wind-up toys, etc. Read Pulleys and Gears and make a small toy to take home.

Out the Door for Summer
Friday, June 12

Explore new activities the museum is planning for the front lawn, read The Garden Jack Grew and make an outdoor accessory to take home.
