Rowley Man Dies After Tree Falls On Him

The 81-year-old Rowley man was helping a neighbor cut the tree down, officials said.

ROWLEY, MA — An elderly man died Thursday afternoon after being struck by a tree that he was helping a neighbor cut down. Rowley Police said the 81-year-old man offered to help his neighbor cut a tree down on that person's property.

The man, who was struck late this morning on Main Street, was flown to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, Rowley Police Chief Scott A. Dumas and Fire Chief James C. Broderick said.

The incident is being investigated.
