Many Local Students Honored at Colleges, Universities

Students from Hamilton and Wenham attending various colleges and universities were named to the Dean's List or similar recognition during the first semester.

The following students from Hamilton and Wenham have received honors at their college or university.

University of New Hampshire's Dean's List for the Fall Semester

The following students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall semester of the 2011-2012 academic year.

MaryGrace Kelleher of Wenham earned High Honors

Students named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.5 to 3.69 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.2 through 3.49 are awarded honors.

Natalie Watson Named to Dean's List at Saint Michael's College

Natalie Watson, daughter of William Watson of South Hamilton, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. Watson is a Senior Elementary Education and American Studies major.

Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.

Watson graduated from before coming to Saint Michael's.

Local Residents Named to Stonehill College's Fall 2011 List

Stonehill College recently named the following local residents to its Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester.

Hamilton resident Emily M. Helming, a member of the class of 2012.

South Hamilton resident Kara L. Nickas, a member of the class of 2014.

South Hamilton resident Charles T. Taft, a member of the class of 2014.

To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Molly Horn Named to Dean's List at Bethel University

Molly Horn, a senior at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., has been named to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the winter 2011 semester. Molly is the daughter of David and Cecilia Horn from South Hamilton.

The Dean's List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

Christina Belezos Named to Sacred Heart University's Dean's List

Christina Belezos of Hamilton was named to the fall 2011 Dean's List at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale.

Elizabeth Froeber Makes Wheaton College Dean's List

Elizabeth Froeber of South Hamilton has been honored with placement on the Dean's List at Wheaton College in Norton for the fall 2011 semester. Froeber, a member of the Class of 2012, is pursuing a major in Theatre and Dance Studies.

To earn Dean's List honors, a student must complete at least three graded courses and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Heather Spearing Makes the Dean's List at Wake Forest University

Heather Spearing, a resident of Wenham, was among over 1,800 students from Wake Forest University who made the Fall Dean's List.

Elisabeth Lister Makes Fall 2011 Dean's List at SUNY New Paltz

Elisabeth Lister, a resident of Wenham, was named to the Dean's List at the State University of New York at New Paltz for the Fall 2011 semester.

Lister's major is Music.

Dean's List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

Curry College Announces Dean's List

Curry College's Chief Academic Officer David Potash is pleased to announce the following area residents attained membership to the Curry College Dean's List for the Fall 2011 term:

"Curry students who achieve the Dean's List demonstrate deep commitment to learning and academic success," said Dean Potash. "We are proud of them and their accomplishments."

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.30 G.P.A., have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester. Full-time students must carry 12 or more graded credits for the semester; part-time students must be matriculated, carrying 6-11.5 graded credits for the semester, and must have earned a cumulative total of 15 graded credits in consecutive semesters.

Lyndsey Shepard Receives Faculty Honors at Trinity College

Lyndsey Shepard of South Hamilton, of the Spring 2014 class at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., has received Faculty Honors for the 2011 fall semester.

To earn Faculty Honors, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B-minus.

Courtney Wilson Named to Dean's List at the University of Vermont

Courtney J. Wilson, of South Hamilton, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Vermont. Wilson is a first-year student Exercise & Movement Sciences major in the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.

To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Connecticut College announces dean's list for local area

Hannah Chmura, class of 2015 at Connecticut College and a resident of Hamilton, has been named to the Dean's High Honors list.

Ainsley Highland, class of 2014 at Connecticut College and a resident of South Hamilton, has been named to the Dean's Honors list.

Lucy Frye, class of 2012 at Connecticut College and a resident of Wenham, has been named to the Dean's High Honors list.

The Dean's Honors recognizes students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.66 and Dean's High Honors recognizes students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78, for the 2011 fall semester at Connecticut College.

Area Residents Make the Fall 2011 Dean's List at UMass Boston

The following local residents were among over 3,000 students from the University of Massachusetts-Boston who made the Fall 2011 Dean's List:

Gemma Hill, a resident of South Hamilton.

Nathaniel McGough, a resident of South Hamilton.

Meghan O'Neil, a resident of South Hamilton.

Mark Dupee, a resident of South Hamilton.

Sherilyn Moniz, a resident of South Hamilton.

Local Students Named to Dean's List at University of Delaware

Several local students have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Fall 2011.

Those students include:

Tayler Kimball, a Freshman Arts and Sciences major from Wenham.

Emily Patrolia, a Sophomore Earth, Ocean, and Environment major from Wenham.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above for the semester.

Julianne Davis Honored by UMass Dartmouth

Julianne Davis of South Hamilton, majoring in psychology, has been named to the Dean's List in recognition of earning a fall semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.

UMass Dartmouth is a 9,500-student, 45,000-alumni campus that prides itself in connecting student learning to discovery and civic engagement, preparing graduates to shape the social and economic fabric of their communities.

Matthew S. Greeke Named to the Saint Anselm College Dean's List

Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B., dean of the college, announced that Matthew S. Greeke, a Business major, was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.

Greeke, a resident of South Hamilton, is a member of the class of 2013.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
