LEAP for Education and Collins Middle School in Salem are partnering on a program called Expanding Horizons@Collins. We are currently seeking volunteers to teach one 90-minute class a week for 10 weeks. Classroom support will be provided by a Collins Middle School teacher and planning support will be provided by LEAP staff.
You will be able to choose from a library of 16 curricula including sports, arts, business, science, and government, to name a few. You pick a topic of interest to you! This LINK will bring you to the LEAP website where you will find an overview of each curriculum and a volunteer interest form to complete. The curriculum includes detailed lesson plans which you can adapt or use as is. LEAP will provide classroom supplies and training to all volunteers.
The program runs on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:30. The first session is from September 25th through December 13th, and the second session is from February 26th through May 16th.
