Missing Boater In Essex Bay Found Safe

IPSWICH, MA – A missing boater in Essex Bay has been found safe, reports say. Ted Gulvemond, 61, was reported missing by his wife Wednesday night after he went out on his boat but did not return home. U.S. Coast Guard crews searched for his 21-foot Donzi boat overnight.

Gulvemond was located Thursday morning. He did not have a phone with him and spent the night on his boat, according to WCVB.

The Coast Guard conducted a 127-mile search of the Annisquam River, Plum Island Sound, Essex Bay and Ipswich Bay areas and searched offshore from Cape Ann.
